Our first destination is Hengifoss, one of the highest waterfalls in Iceland. It takes 40-60 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the waterfall. On the way is another astonishing waterfall, Litlanesfoss, which is crowned by exceptional high basalt columns, making it totally unique and photogenic. After the waterfall walk we ride on through narrow valleys, rich with escarpments and undergrowth, inwards to the edge of the wilderness. Once at the Wilderness Center we have a tour through the exhibitions. Riding an Icelandic horse is something you have to experience at least once in your life. Travelling on horseback in the wilderness is for those who want a real feeling of exclusive freedom. After the ride, guests can feast on an delicious buffet in the kitchen of the Wilderness Center. We select each horse with riders’ enjoyment and safety in mind.

• Comfortable trousers for riding

• Shoes suited to terrain
• Water bottle (but you can also take a sip from some of the natural springs on the way)
